CPI’S MARKET-LEADING MORTAR IN THE SPOTLIGHT ON THE SHAKESPEARE NORTH PLAYHOUSE PROJECT
Products Supplied:
Silo Mixing StationCPI EuroMix’s quality mortar will no doubt be met with rave reviews after it is used in the construction of the UK’s third and most northernmost theatre dedicated to playwright William Shakespeare: The Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot, Lancashire.
The Shakespeare North Playhouse will be an important addition to the UK’s theatre heritage and will realign the civil parish of Prescot with its historic connection to Shakespeare and the early modern theatre scene. Its design has been purposefully and sensitively chosen to reflect of-the-time Elizabethan court and theatre aesthetics. With completion set to be in 2022, The Shakespeare North Playhouse will come replete with a unique 350-seat theatre alongside a contemporary outdoor performance garden, exhibition and visitor centre and educational facilities.
CPI EuroMix is working with contractor Kier and brickwork contractor Stock Brickwork on this Knowsley Council project which is designed by architect Helm Architecture. Drawing on the excellent product and expertise of its team, CPI has been tasked with delivering its natural and mahogany shades of mortar to site.
CPI’s silo mixing stations can hold up to 35 tonnes of dry mortar, producing a readily made solution at the flick of a switch. The system minimises waste as well as maintaining the mix and colours, which helps to reduce the environmental impact of projects during construction. Delivered to site, the silos produce a perfectly mixed mortar accredited to industry standard, BS EN ISO 9001:2015, the industry standard accreditation for quality control. Different shades of mortar may also be specified – as in the case of this project – to meet the exacting design needs of the architects.
Able to offer high grade mortar alongside its exact premixing silo mixing stations, CPI EuroMix ensures that projects benefit from quality mortars with high bond and compressive strength, durability and colour.
With its completion planned for 2022, The Shakespeare North Playhouse will be a turning-point for the UK’s theatre scene, transforming a small English town into the stuff that dreams are made of.

Notes to editors
CPI Mortars is the market leader in dry mortar technology and has established a solid track record with many of the leading house builders, contractors, architects and consultants.
EuroMix is a range of mortars, renders and screeds, factory produced using dried sand, cement, lime if required, and other additives, delivered to site in a silo complete with mixing equipment. When delivered, the silo contains 16 tonnes of dry material, which produces about 10m³ of mortar. It can hold up to 35 tonnes when refilled by tanker.
Once power and water supplies are connected, a constant supply of high quality mortar or render is available at the push of a button. Operating from nine sites throughout the UK the company provides a productive, efficient and cost effective solution to all construction site mortar and render requirements and the company’s distinctive red and white EuroMix silos have become a familiar feature on many building sites throughout the country.
