CPI EuroMix was called upon to provide the quality mortar solution for a purpose-built, three-storey building for arts students at Big Creative Academy, London.

Big Creative Academy is a sixth form school located in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. Farrans Construction was contracted to create the school’s new centre for the performing arts, a theatre and ancillary café for pupils, staff and occasional community use. The spaces were all designed in line with Big Creative Academy’s needs and include media studios, make-up classes, music recording, mixing and control rooms, all centred around a fully functioning theatre to bring courses together at the heart of the school. The new site also comprises outdoor social hubs, a health and fitness zone and additional recreational spaces of soft landscaped areas.

CPI EuroMix was engaged by Farrans Construction directly for this development and used its skill and expertise to deliver 125 tonnes of its Harlow M4 Natural Mortar.

CPI’s silo mixing stations are designed to meet the exacting needs of brickwork contractors and hold up to 35 tonnes of dry mortar, producing a readily made solution at the flick of a switch. The system minimises waste as well as maintaining the mix and colours, which helps to reduce the environmental impact of projects during construction. Delivered to site, the silos produce a perfectly mixed mortar accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2015, the industry standard accreditation for quality control.
