CPI plays a key supporting role in towering gateway development
CPI EuroMix supplied a high-quality dry mortar mix for a stunning 31-storey residential tower hailed as a ‘gateway site’ to Leeds city centre.
The building, Triangle Yard, is a red brick colossus. It stands 94 metres-high and comprises 399 stylish one-to-three-bedroom apartments. Triangle Yard is part of a connected community development that will transform a long-term vacant site to desirable use.
Located near the picturesque River Aire, Triangle Yard is being delivered by main contractor Keady Construction on behalf of developer Ridgeback Group. CPI’s dry mortar mix was specified by Ismael Leyva Architects.
CPI supplied two silos of natural mortar for the Triangle Yard project. The material was manufactured and mixed at CPI’s Leeds plant. It was then transported to site in readiness for an application process that produces mortar that inspires excellent workability and durability. The EuroMix silo storage system is adept at improving efficiencies by minimising wastage and involves easy clean mixers and tanker refills.
Triangle Yard comprises 1200m2 of brickwork. Brickstone Construction is carrying out the mortar’s installation, which presented a challenge for CPI in terms of its delivery. Triangle Yard stands within a space restricted site. CPI’s first-class service skills were key to overcoming this issue, with its teams working closely with Brickstone Construction’s site-based operatives to organise appointed delivery times to ensure continuity of dry mortar supply.
It’s estimated CPI will have supplied circa 700 tonnes of its dry natural mortar once Triangle Yard’s brickwork aspect is finalised. The project itself is set for completion in 2026.
For CPI, Triangle Yard was an outstanding development to be involved with. The building occupies a prominent space on the city skyline. This will give full display to its magnificent red brickwork, which will have greater kerb appeal thanks to CPI mortar’s crucial supporting role.
