CPI Smashes Fundraising Challenge for Cancer Support UK

CPI Mortars Ltd is proud to announce the outstanding success of “CPI’s Big Challenge for Cancer Support UK,” a company-wide initiative that saw teams from across the business come together to support a vital cause.

Going the extra mile – and then some!

In April, over a two-week period, 162 CPI colleagues took part in the Big Challenge, aiming to walk, run, and cycle the equivalent distance between CPI’s sites – a target of 768 miles. Participants could log their miles wherever they were based, with CPI pledging to donate 75p to partner charity, Cancer Support UK, for every mile completed.

The result? CPI colleagues didn’t just meet the target – they absolutely smashed it! Together, they covered an incredible 12,392 miles, raising a fantastic £9,294 for Cancer Support UK.

Team spirit in action

The challenge inspired a wave of activity and camaraderie across CPI’s sites and departments. Highlights included:

• The Bellshill team organising group walks

• Operations and Plant Managers cycling 50 miles from the Harlow plant to the Northfleet plant

• CPI’s Cancer Support UK mascot, Bat Cat, joining colleagues, friends, and family on their journeys

 

 

 

Richard Trimby, Head of Partnerships at Cancer Support UK, said:  “It is wonderful to see so many colleagues at CPI Mortars taking part in this challenge and making such a significant contribution to our charity. This will help us to provide vital emotional support to so many more people who are feeling anxious and alone as face cancer. We would like to thank everyone at CPI Mortars for their amazing support.”
