CPI SUPPLIES COLOUR MORTAR FOR EAST LONDON DEVELOPMENT

CPI EuroMix was involved in an extensive development of three neighbouring sites constructed at the edge of Hackney Wick, London.

CPI provided the total, quality mortar solution for the new-builds produced on Rothbury Road, 24-26 Whitepost Lane and Hepscott Road. On this large-scale project, CPI EuroMix worked with main contractor, Aitch Group, and subcontractor, AES Construction to deliver the projects on-time and to specification.

To achieve the perfect shade mortar, CPI employs the latest spectrometer technology and software. CPI’s colour design studio uses on-site scanning to match the colour mortar to the required design.

Five silos containing different shades of CPI EuroMix’s innovative colour mortar were delivered to the sites. Colours used across the three sites included: natural, medium copper brown, medium lilac, charcoal and black, to achieve the aesthetic and practical demands of all projects. The shade medium copper brown was used on the Hepscott Road and Rothbury Road developments, whereas all five colours were supplied across the four buildings on the site, 24-26 Whitepost Lane.

Able to retain significant quantities of pre-mixed mortar, and readily available at the flick of a switch, CPI’s silo mixing stations can hold up to 35 tonnes of dry mortar. Delivered to site, the siloes produce a perfectly mixed mortar accredited to industry standard, BS EN ISO 9001:2000. As well as maintaining mix and colours, the system also minimises waste, helping to reduce the environmental impact of projects during construction.

Paul O’Brien from the project’s subcontractor, AES Construction, said: “The natural mortar in particular that we used had a retardant in the mix, which was especially useful as it made the product last longer. We were also impressed with CPI’s ability to supply coloured mortars which met with the specifications.”
